Less Government President Seton Motley issued the following statement in response to yesterday’s bipartisan House passage of Cut, Cap and Balance:
“Cut, Cap and Balance is the only debt ceiling plan that actually addresses the dire economic situation we face as a nation.
“It is the only debt ceiling plan that seriously cuts and limits government spending, and thereby deals with our long-term debt problem.
“It is thusly the only debt ceiling plan that will ensure we maintain our AAA bond rating.
“It is the only debt ceiling plan that forces the government to do what we Americans have to do – balance the budget every single year.
“It is also the only debt ceiling plan that has passed a chamber of Congress - and has done so in bipartisan fashion.
“The House has done the important work necessary to save our nation from economic ruin. The Senate must now join with them on this one real bipartisan solution – and pass Cut, Cap and Balance.”
