The Left: A History of Violence and Racism - Net Neutrality 'Comments' Edition
Another Peaceful Left Assemblage
Godfather of Communism Karl Marx counseled: “Accuse others of what you do.” More than a century’s worth of Marx-Communist disciples - have rigorously adhered to this tenet.
Communism has…a bit of a history-of-violence problem. It spent the 20th Century - murdering roughly 100 million people.
The American Left really hasn’t held up its end of the bargain on the body count - but that doesn't mean their past isn't rife with murder, violence and mayhem. See: The Ku Klux Klan, the Weathermen/Weather Underground and the Black Panthers - to name but a few.
But throughout their history of violence - the American Left has consistently and very successfully pinned the “Barbarity” label - on the Right. Accusing others of what they do.
Heck, they’ve even successfully ascribed to the Right the Democrat Party-born Klan - which spent so much of its time murdering blacks and the Republicans who helped them.
Flash forward to the modern era - nothing has changed. The Tea Party was accused of being a racist, violent response to Barack Obama - America’s first black president. Except the Tea Party actually got its start protesting mass illegal immigrant amnesty and then massive bank bailouts - which were policies put forward by white Republican President George W. Bush. And the only violence that ever took place at Tea Party rallies - was initiated by Leftists.
Meanwhile, three Leftists can’t gather together - without violence ensuing. To pick but a few recent historical examples: The 1968 Democrat Party Convention in Chicago. The very many bombs planted by The Weathermen/Weather Underground and others in the 1960s and 1970s. The 1999 Seattle World Trade Organization riots - otherwise known as the “Battle in Seattle.” The Occupy Wall Street movement. The college riots over half a century and all the way through to today - in objection to anyone to the Right of Vladimir Lenin breathing campus air. The Left hiring people to initiate violence at presidential candidate Donald Trump’s rallies. And on, and on, and….
Now we’re in the Age of President Trump. And the Left creates the violent Antifa movement. And the anti-Trump “Resist” movement - which couldn't even wait for his swearing-in before destroying parts of Washington, D.C. And they have all been increasing the crazy ever since.
No one on the Right is immune to the Left’s threats of violence - or their racism. To wit: Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai.
Named Chairman by a deregulatory Trump - Pai is looking to deregulate his portion of the federal Leviathan. And that means, in large part, rolling back Obama’s very many Internet power grabs.
The Biggest One: Obama’s FCC - without Congress, unilaterally - exponentially increased the regs by reclassifying the Web. So as to then impose the utterly ridiculous Network Neutrality. Pai announced he was going to go through the same FCC rules-making process used to ratchet up the regs - to ratchet them back down.
That rollback process - includes one or more “Comment Periods” where people can file…whatever ridiculousness they wish on what the Commission is doing. This is absurd pseudo-democracy nonsense - to give the air of propriety to these unilateral, regulatory-agency power grabs.
Here’s a thought, Left: If you want Net Neutrality - use Congress to pass it in legislation. It provides a permanence no agency power grab can. (Because if it lives by the executive action - it can die by the executive action.)
And you can file “Comments” with Congress as often as you wish - no finite, truncated “Comment” period. With the added bonus of being able to un-elect Congressman and Senators should they not do what you wish.
No one ever cast a ballot for anyone at the FCC - “Selected Not Elected,” anyone? Demanding the unelected Commission impersonate our elected Congress - isn’t at all representative of We the People.
Chairman Pai understands all of this. He wants to return to the pre-power grab status quo - and then have Congress do whatever they will with Net Neutrality. What Pai proposes - is perfectly reasoned and reasonable. The Left’s response - not so much.
Cue the racism and threats of violence - oh, and a ton of ridiculous, nonsensical and totally worthless “Comments.” Yet again demonstrating what a preposterous, pointless exercise the regulatory “Comment” periods are:
“Pai…received death threats in several submissions. One commenter said, ‘[F]—k you Ajit Pai for what you're are trying to do and I hope you die a horrible painful death with no remembrance to your name you cocksucka [sic].’
“Another said failure to keep net neutrality would ‘cause me to pray for the slow and painful death of Chairman Ajit Pai and every living member of his family, direct or indirect.’
“‘Save internet and fuck this Ajit guy,’ said another. ‘He's from India, deport that asshole. We will take care of him when he's back.’”
An aside: Pai is of Indian immigrant parents. He was born in rural Kansas. You violent, racist, anti-immigrant clowns:
“‘Can you guys stop being complete greedy little s–ts and work for the American people and not for your wallets,’ said one commenter using the name ‘Andromeda Titan.’ ‘Also, f–k you Ajit Pai (a disgrace to all Indians). And f–k Trump too.’
“Another commenter said, ‘Ajit Pai looks and sounds like an Indian fraternity brother who exclusively f–ks underage women.’
“'Ajit Pai looks like the lone Indian who rushed an all white bro frat and only got in because they needed someone to clean up after their weekend bender,’ said another, who added, ‘It's not racist because I'm Indian and white privilege absolutely exists.’”
And before you dismiss these violent threats as just words:
Net Neutrality Supporters Visit FCC Boss Ajit Pai's Neighbors
I’m sure Pai - after a long day of reading racist threats - really enjoys returning home to find these ridiculous people overrunning his neighborhood.
And I know I’m enjoying all of these substantive contributions to the Net Neutrality discussion. Are these “Commenters” as brave as they are racist and violence-threatening? Like, say, putting their names to their threats? Of course not:
“(T)here were 1,761 comments filed under the name ‘John Oliver’ (the pro-Net Neutrality alleged comedian), 998 separate comments using the name ‘Yoni Schwartz,’ and 611 comments filed using ‘1' as the name. Over 500 were submitted using Chairman Pai's name, as well as 189 from ‘Donald Trump’ and 8 from ‘Obama.’”
Remember - the Left takes these bureaucracy “Comment” periods VERY seriously. And insist they weigh heavily on our unilateral-policy-making decisions.
Why? Because they can gin up the, violent, racist unhinged insanity - but not the substantive policy support. The last time the Left tried to do Net Neutrality the right way and engage Congress - it didn't go so well. In 2010, 95 Democrat Congressional candidates signed a pro-Net Neutrality pledge. All 95 lost.
So instead - we get this. Absurd, racist, violence-soaked bureaucracy “Comments” - a giant sham scam devised to avoid the Constitution and the Congress We the People actually elected to handle these sorts of things.
Let’s finally put an end to this little bit of authoritarian nonsense, shall we? Let’s let Congress be Congress - and pass laws. And then have the FCC and every other bureaucracy do what they’re supposed to do - adhere to and implement the laws Congress passes.
It will whittle down at least a little the opportunities the Left has to demonstrate its violence, racism and stupidity. Which would be yet another very pleasant development.
