Everything the government touches it ruins, and most often to breathtaking scale.
Before any person can choose to run for any office, federal or state, they should have to undergo a rigorous exam strictly on the Constitution, with special emphasis on all its prescribed LIMITATIONS as to the boundaries in which they must remain. They need to score above 80% to even be allowed to run.
Then, there should be a Constitutional board (monitors) to oversee any and all laws, etc. they try to create to see if it passes muster with said limitations.
In short, they need to be put on the tightest of leashes. And there will be swift and serious consequences for stepping out of line.
I’m still working on the consequences for those who even still try to end-run the process, but it is as yet incomplete. So far, those consequences rest somewhere between being drummed out of office to being tarred and feathered. But There are so many to choose from.
