This article comes at the perfect time; your insightful analysis of the US debt spiral, especialy concerning the Saudi oil mandate, really makes one think.

Everything in this article is correct and yet...the USA is still the strongest economy in the world and still the safest place to put your money which is why the dollar remains stable. To use a cliched analogy the USA is the tallest midget....Europe is a mess and worse off then we are,China surely a threat is a communist country with their own problems...I agree strongly that we have big problems and few peopel willing to solve them but this is a worldwide problem and if the USA goes down the whole world goes down..as bad as it is here I would still rather be the USA...one day there is going to be a reckoning but lets not forget David Stockman started screaming and yelling the same things back in the early 80s when out debt was minimal...we need to address our problems for sure but at the moment Idont see anyone in the world who Ias an American would rather be

The US is absolutely not "the strongest economy in the world."

That is a patently absurd assertion.

It is the largest - still, for a little while longer. It is NOT the strongest.

The rest of the planet is preparing for the post-US world.

They will be much better off post-collapse than you think.

And I absolutely do not want to be there for the US implosion. Which is why I left.

I believe that when the EU was formed years ago the USA and Europe were roughly equal in terms of GDP and today Europe is 50% of the USA...China is a disaster waiting to happen and who else would you suggest as the alternative to the USA?...I do not dispute your main points but only point out that these problems are not solely USA problems and we are best equipped to deal with them if anyone does..you left?...so where did you go?

The fact that other countries may also collapse changes absolutely nothing about the fact the US will collapse.

Which was the point of the article.

that is not how Iread the article, you suggested that the USA is about to collapse and there are better places to be...Ifor one am indeed concerned about the debt worldwide but will gladly remain in the USA and let you write your column from Belize or the philippines...
